Breakfast Shot, also sometimes called Irish Breakfast Shot is a great way to start your day’s energy needs.
Though certain variations differentiate Breakfast and Irish Breakfast shots as two different ones, it is just the method of consuming that differs and not the ingredients. You will understand how, in the later part of this article.
This breakfast shot is sweet and usually paired with a Roasted bacon strip as a Garnish!
The drink by itself is so simple to make, with just two ingredients – Jameson Irish Whiskey and Butterscotch Schnapps. Of course there are two more mixers to your liking.

Breakfast Shot Recipe
- Shot glasses
- Cocktail shaker
- 1 oz. (30 ml) Jameson Irish Whiskey
- ½ oz. (15 ml) Butterscotch Schnapps
- 1 oz. (30 ml) Orange Juice
- 1 tbsp Maple Syrup
- Bacon Strips
- Fill a Cocktail Shaker with ice cubes.
- Pour Irish Whiskey, Butterscotch Schnapps, Orange juice and Maple Syrup and mix the drink well.
- Strain the cocktail into shot glasses.
- Garnish with Shot glasses with Bacon Strips.
- Serve and Enjoy the drink!
Tips To Make Breakfast Shot
✅ This is a Shooter cocktail, so make sure to follow up with some nice Breakfast meal items like Pancakes, Eggs or Sausages.
✅ The Bacon Strip can be Roasted or Candied. When you bite this Bacon and drink the Shot, it gives you complete satisfaction of having your breakfast.
✅ Jameson is best used Irish Whiskey. However, in the event of not being able to find a Jameson, you can use other Irish whiskeys but make sure to get one good quality whiskey.
Variations Of Breakfast Shot
One Popular variation is, as mentioned above, depending on how you wish to drink the shot.
One way is to mix them all in a cocktail shaker and drink them as a shot.
The other way is to mix Whiskey and Schnapps in a shot glass and the Orange Juice in a regular glass. Once you slam the shot glass, you can follow it up with Orange juice and then bite the Bacon strips.
There is this Pancake Shot, which uses the same ingredients except for the Maple Syrup and doesn’t use the Bacon Garnish.
So, ideally, the Bacon is the differentiator between Breakfast and Pancake Shot.
