No! This is not coming from Tokyo, nor even Japan. So, why this name?
Probably because this cocktail uses an ingredient that is Japan made, and so, so popular that you can’t even substitute it for any other brand.
Right! Tokyo Tea is a Long Island Iced Tea with a melon twist!
When you add Midori (which is the Melon liqueur) to Long Island Iced Tea and replace Cola with any Club soda, you get a fluorescent Green color Cocktail that is equally pleasing to the eye as much as it is to the tastebuds.
Just like LIIT, Tokyo Tea is a super potent cocktail because it has four different types of Liquors in addition to one or two liqueurs.
The cocktail is refreshing and a little sweet because of the Midori and the Triple Sec and is definitely a likable one and entertaining one when you invite your friends over for a weekend party.

Tips To Make Tokyo Tea
✅ Midori is the only natural choice of Melon Liqueur you can have for this drink. We strongly suggest so. But, if you could not get one, try looking out for other brands like DeKuyper.
✅ As an alternative to the sweet and sour mix, you can use Simple syrup and add freshly made lemon juice.
✅ Instead of Triple Sec, you can also use Cointreau.
✅ All four Liquors are absolutely necessary, but only in case you could not get your hands on any one of them, double any other available liquor.
Variations Of Tokyo Tea
As is the case with any other cocktails, you can try and substitute one ingredient with any other.
But always remember, for you to taste the original recipe, try to stick to the actual ingredients.
Also, instead of Club Soda, you can also Sprite to bring out the refreshing effervescence.
If you remove Midori and replace Soda with Coca-Cola, you get Long Island Iced Tea.
On the Other hand, if you replace Midori with Blue Curacao, you get the AMF drink.
