Sex on the Beach is one of the official cocktails listed by IBA (International Bartender Association). Though it is unclear as to when this drink was invented, it was included in American Bartenders School Guide to Drinks as one of its Official Drinks.
Coming to its name, I know it is very weird and suggestive. But again this name comes as a part of provocatively naming cocktails. Still at some point, it yielded interest in the minds of the customers.
This cocktail was actually popular in the 90s and is still popular at a Beach bar, probably. What makes this cocktail a crowd favorite is (apart from its name) its refreshing, fruit flavor. It isn’t hard to make this drink either.

- Highball Glasses
- Jiggers
Ingredients
- 1 oz (30 ml) Vodka
- 1/2 oz (15 ml) Peach Schnapps
- 1 oz (30 ml) Orange Juice
- 1 oz (30 ml) Cranberry Juice
- Orange Wedge for Garnish
Instructions
- In a highball glass with ice cubes, add Vodka Peach Schnapps, Orange Juice and Cranberry Juice.
- Stir them gently until they mix well.
- Garnish with Orange Wedge.
- Serve and Enjoy the drink!

Tips To Make Sex On The Beach

✅ For best results, you may use Pre-Chilled ingredients.
✅ People also used to swap Orange Juice with Pineapple Juice, but the classic version (as quoted in IBA) calls for Orange Juice.
Variations Of Sex On The Beach
There is one important variation to this juice – which additionally uses Creme de Cassis. This is very optional, so you can choose to do it or just leave it.
And then you can make a Creamy version of Sex on the Beach. It uses Heavy Cream and a little bit of Coconut Rum (to provide more Tropical Flavor).
On the other hand, if you replace Vodka with Rum and add Coconut Rum & Coconut Water, you get Hawaiian Sex on the Beach.
Sex on the Malibu Beach gets a dash of Grenadine and Coconut Rum to the classic Sex on the Beach recipe.
